My love affair with Travel

The Travelution of Curly Wanders…

I’ve been dreaming of traveling the world since I was a little girl. I knew while I was in high school that I wanted to visit Rio De Janeiro and as a high school graduation gift I wanted to visit Machu Picchu. The funds were nowhere near enough to afford either so those trips were put on the back burner for many years later. I grew accustomed to spending my summers back home in my beautiful island of Dominican Republic, and having lived hours from New York City, a few trips to NYC were always fun as well.

Moving away to Miami to attend college was the best decision I made as a young adult. While attending school, I would study abroad and spend a summer in Europe. This first experience overseas opened the gateway to what has now become a journey of thirty countries and over forty cities.

Traveling has a different meaning for everyone. My traveling is fueled by curiosity. I’m passionate about architecture, I’m a sucker for natural and man-made landmarks, and although I do not fully immerse myself into the culture, I am intrigued the day-to-day life of locals. I consider myself a multifaceted traveler; when I travel, I keep my budget as a priority as this is what enables me to afford multiple trips within a year. I tend to be touristy, which I believe every traveler has a little bit of touristy in them no matter how much they might not like to admit it. I love to wander off until my feet hurt! I love to walk around in cities I’ve never been to before and every now and then I’ll book myself a tour or two.

Anyways that’s the quickie introduction about my travel life, I can’t give it all up in one article! What about you? Why do you travel? What fuels your travel bug? What are your favorite things to do as a traveler? Can’t wait to hear from you!

    Love this post!
Travel has been in my blood since birth as I traveled throughout the US as a child with my parents. During college and post I have done more solo travel and more world travel. I love connecting with locals, immersing in the culture and being present in every moment!
    Great blog!
